Cibapac, based on a large factory campus in Cape Town’s Montague Gardens and in Alrode Johannesburg, primarily services the protein and fresh produce sectors. It is one of the largest manufacturer of PVC stretch film in South Africa, and has a major share of the expanded polystyrene (EPS) tray market for fresh produce, meat, poultry and fast foods.
Building a better future
Cibapac was created from the South African division of LINPAC Packaging and is owned by two private equity partners, Leaf Private Equity and Clearwater Capital. The transfer of ownership was effective from 1st January 2009 and through Clearwater Capital’s participation, adds appropriate BEE credentials to the new entity.
The name “Ciba” is derived from “cibus” meaning “food” in Latin.
The organisation is customer-focussed and aims at providing a comprehensive packaging solution to our customers. We have expanded our product offering to cover all major food related packaging needs to our target market.
CIBAPAC has a detailed innovation team tracking the latest developments in packaging globally.
We also have a long standing, strong relationship with major global raw material suppliers, to ensure that the latest polymer developments are tested for barrier film improvements in the South African market.
